1. Acceptance and scope
Welcome to Formula Bridge. These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and the Formula Bridge service provider regarding your access to and use of the Formula Bridge website, browser extension, and related services. Please read these Terms and the Privacy Policy before using the service.
By accessing or using Formula Bridge, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Minors should use the service only after a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms.
2. The service
Formula Bridge provides formula image recognition, web formula import, LaTeX editing and preview, symbol input, recognition history, Word formula copying, image export, and related features. Available features may vary by device, browser, sign-in status, recognition mode, or service version.
Lite recognition generally runs locally on your device. Pro recognition requires an image you actively submit to be sent to the server for processing. Data handling is described in the Privacy Policy.
3. Accounts and security
Some features require an account and sign-in. You must provide a valid email address that belongs to you or is lawfully controlled by you, and keep your password, verification codes, and sign-in state secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
If you discover unauthorized account use or another security risk, change your password and contact us promptly. To protect users, the service, or third parties, we may require renewed verification, restrict relevant activity, or temporarily suspend an account.
4. User content and required permission
You retain all rights you lawfully hold in formula images, LaTeX, feedback, and other content you submit. Formula Bridge does not acquire ownership of that content merely because you use the service.
To provide the recognition, storage, editing, preview, copy, and export features you request, you grant Formula Bridge a limited, non-exclusive permission to process that content only as necessary to provide and maintain the service. This permission ends when the content is deleted or no longer needed for the relevant feature, except where retention is required by law or the information has been anonymized for aggregate statistics.
You must have the right to submit and process the relevant content, and your use of Formula Bridge must not infringe copyrights, privacy, trade secrets, or other lawful rights. Content found on a webpage may still belong to that website, its author, or another rights holder.
5. Recognition results and professional use
Formula recognition relies on automated models and image quality. Results may contain errors in symbols, scripts, matrix structure, line breaks, or meaning. Formula Bridge does not guarantee that results will always be complete, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose.
Before using results in assignments, examinations, publications, teaching materials, engineering calculations, medical or financial work, or any other consequential context, you must verify them and seek qualified professional review where appropriate. You accept the risk of using unverified recognition results.
6. Quotas, plans, and paid features
Some recognition features may be subject to daily quotas, account quotas, model availability, or fair-use limits. Complimentary, promotional, and test quotas have no cash value and cannot be transferred, withdrawn, or exchanged unless expressly stated otherwise.
If Formula Bridge introduces paid plans, pricing, benefits, validity periods, renewal terms, and applicable refund rules will be those displayed at checkout when the transaction occurs. Nothing in these Terms excludes consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
7. Acceptable use
You must not use Formula Bridge to engage in or facilitate unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, security-compromising, or harmful conduct, including:
- Submitting or processing content you have no right to use, or infringing intellectual property, privacy, or other lawful rights;
- Circumventing account, quota, access-control, or security measures; creating accounts in bulk; abusing complimentary quota; or making high-frequency automated requests;
- Uploading malicious code, disrupting servers or networks, probing vulnerabilities, or reverse engineering the service to obtain protected models, source code, or trade secrets, except where expressly permitted by applicable law;
- Impersonating others, misrepresenting an affiliation with Formula Bridge, or using the service to distribute unlawful, harmful, or deceptive content;
- Consuming service resources in a manner clearly beyond normal personal or reasonable business use and impairing access for other users.
8. Formula Bridge intellectual property
The Formula Bridge website, browser extension, interface design, branding, documentation, software, models, and other service-provided content are owned by Formula Bridge or their respective rights holders. Except as necessary for normal use of the service, you may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, publicly distribute, or create derivative products without permission.
Open-source components are governed by their respective licenses, and these Terms do not restrict rights granted to you under those licenses.
9. Third-party sites and services
Formula Bridge may provide formula-import entry points on third-party webpages and may link to third-party sites or services. Those third parties are responsible for their content, availability, rules, and data practices. Formula Bridge does not endorse, guarantee, or act as an agent for a third party unless expressly stated.
10. Availability, changes, and termination
We work to keep the service reliable, but do not guarantee permanent, uninterrupted, or error-free operation. Maintenance, upgrades, network failures, third-party outages, force majeure events, or security incidents may temporarily make some features unavailable.
We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features for product, security, compliance, or operational reasons. Where a material change affects important user interests, we will provide notice through the website, an in-product message, or another appropriate method where reasonably practicable.
If you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms, or continued service would create legal, security, or operational risk, we may restrict or terminate your access to some or all features. You may stop using the service at any time and submit account or data requests through the feedback channel.
11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Formula Bridge is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the service will meet every requirement, work with every webpage or application, produce perfectly accurate recognition, or never lose data. Keep your own backups of important formulas and materials.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Formula Bridge is not liable for indirect loss, loss of anticipated profit, business interruption, data loss, or losses caused by a user's breach of these Terms, failure to verify recognition results, or misuse of the service. These Terms do not limit liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, excluding conflict-of-law rules. The parties should first seek to resolve disputes arising from these Terms or the service through good-faith discussion. If no resolution is reached, either party may bring a claim before a court with lawful jurisdiction. This section does not affect mandatory consumer rights or statutory dispute-resolution options available under applicable law.
13. Changes to these Terms and other provisions
We may update these Terms to reflect service changes or legal requirements. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised last-updated date. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will provide prominent notice where reasonably practicable. Continued use after the updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. A delay in exercising a right does not waive that right.
