1. Scope
This policy applies to the Formula Bridge website, browser extension, and related services. Formula Bridge helps users convert formula images or formulas found on web pages into editable LaTeX, with editing, preview, copy, and export features.
2. Data we process
We process only the data needed to provide the service, including:
- Account and authentication information: The email address, login session, or access token used when you sign in, for identity verification and maintaining your signed-in state.
- Formula content you actively submit: Formula images you choose to recognize, LaTeX you enter or import, and recognition results. Web formula import occurs only when you actively click an entry point such as “Copy to Formula Bridge.”
- Feature data and preferences: Editing drafts, font size, theme settings, and the LaTeX, recognition mode, model version, and creation time saved to display recognition history.
We do not collect your browsing history or record the pages you visit for advertising or tracking.The extension provides feature entry points on web pages, but reads the relevant formula content only when you actively use screenshot recognition, web formula import, or “Copy to Formula Bridge.”
3. How we use data
We use the data described above to:
- Complete sign-in, maintain account status, and protect service security;
- Recognize formula images you actively submit or import web formulas you actively select;
- Save recognition history, editing drafts, and preferences you choose to retain so you can continue editing;
- Provide LaTeX editing, live preview, Word formula copying, PNG export, and related features;
- Diagnose failures and improve service stability and security.
4. Local and cloud processing
Local Lite recognition: Formula Bridge provides the Lite image-recognition model with the website or extension and runs it on your device. This mode does not send images to a remote model service for recognition.
Cloud Pro recognition: When you actively choose Pro image recognition, the image you submit is securely transmitted to Formula Bridge servers to complete that cloud recognition request. We perform necessary format and size processing on uploaded images.
Recognition history: After a signed-in user completes recognition, Formula Bridge may save the recognized LaTeX, recognition mode, model version, and creation time on the server so the user can view or delete them in recognition history. Pending screenshots, drafts, and some preferences in the browser extension are stored locally in the browser until you clear them, sign out, or uninstall the extension.
6. Your choices and rights
- You may choose not to use sign-in, web formula import, screenshot recognition, or Pro recognition. The corresponding features will then be unavailable or limited.
- You may delete saved records from recognition history, clear the browser extension’s local data, or uninstall the extension.
- You may sign out at any time. Locally stored sign-in state is cleared after you sign out.
- To access, correct, or delete data associated with your account, contact us through the Formula Bridge website feedback channel and describe your request.
7. Policy updates
We may update this policy when service features or applicable laws change. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of Formula Bridge means you acknowledge the updated policy.
